Walk the List, Mint the Proof, Keep the Anniversary

Three surfaces, one cycle: a board that knows what's due, a report that proves the walk, and a Monday email that never forgets a door

Due board

Every door, sorted by its anniversary

  • ✓Statuses come from the real due engine, live on this page. Log an inspection and watch the board regroup
  • ✓Worst first: Overdue and Due soon float to the top, so the month's building walks plan themselves

Deficiencies

  • Self-closing device does not close the door
  • Gasketing or edge seals missing or damaged

Closer does not fully latch the active leaf from full open; meeting-edge gasket torn at mid-height.

NFPA 80 expects deficiencies to be corrected without delay. This list is the scope of the repair work.

Photo evidence on file: 2 condition, 2 deficiency. See the attached evidence pack.

Monday digest

The chase list mails itself every Monday

  • ✓One Monday email: everything overdue and everything due in the next 60 days, per building
  • ✓Booked doors are excused, exactly as the board reads them, so the list is all signal
  • ✓A clean board sends no email at all. The digest respects your inbox

From Doorspector

Fire doors this week: 1 overdue, 1 due soon

Monday · Jun 29, 2026

Your weekly inspection digest

Here's every fire door that needs attention: overdue inspections and everything coming due in the next 60 days.

Overdue (1)

Riverside Medical Plaza - FD-214 · Stairwell B pair: was due Jun 20, 2026

Due in the next 60 days (1)

The Foundry Hotel - FD-031 · Corridor 2F cross door: due Aug 15, 2026

Open your due board

You get this digest on Mondays whenever doors need attention. Log the inspection or book the visit and it drops off the list.

Rebuilt live from the board above with the same rules the Monday email uses. A booked visit is excused; a logged inspection drops off.

Not a Reminder App. An Anniversary Engine.

Every status is computed from your inspection records against the interval on each door, the same arithmetic running the demo board on this page

The door becomes a ledger

Every opening carries its rating, type, and inspection interval. Log the walk and the next due date is computed from the inspection date, the same arithmetic printed on the report.

The board sorts worst-first

Overdue, then due soon, then booked, then scheduled. A door with no history reads Not yet inspected, so new rosters cannot hide either.

Booked means excused

Mark the visit and the door steps out of the chase list; the board and the Monday email both honor the booking. Log the inspection and the cycle restarts on its own.

Monday runs itself

Every Monday, owners get one digest: overdue doors and everything inside the 60-day radar. Nothing actionable means no email.

The three inspection intervals Doorspector tracks, exactly as the product offers them
ProgramInspection interval
High-abuse openingsEvery 90 days
Semi-annual programEvery 180 days
NFPA 80 annual minimumEvery 365 days

60 days before its next due date, a door enters the due-soon radar, wide enough to book a building walk before the year runs out. A live booking excuses it from the chase list until you show up, exactly as the due engine reads it.

The leak

A Hinge Tag Can't Call You Back

Nobody cancels fire door inspection. The code keeps the demand alive; the only question is whose name is on next year's report. When the anniversary lives on a punched tag and the deficiency list lives in a truck binder, both quietly become someone else's.

  • ✓Fire door inspection is anniversary revenue: the same doors, every year, for as long as the building stands
  • ✓Clients rarely switch on purpose; they drift to whoever calls first when the year quietly ends
  • ✓One kept anniversary covers months of Doorspector, before the repair work it surfaces

Walk the Doors. Keep the Building.

The two jobs your binder actually does, done properly, for your whole company

The 13-point walk, on rails

Every door type gets its own NFPA 80 checklist, swinging doors, rolling steel drop tests, sliding assemblies. Items pass by default; you flag what failed and move to the next opening.

Owner-ready inspection reports

Every inspection mints a numbered report on your letterhead: door, rating, result, deficiency list, and photos on file. Print it, or email the building owner a link that stays live for 12 months.

Deficiency lists that become quotes

Failed items are captured as structured line items with photo evidence, not a note in a truck binder. The repair work you found is sitting in one list, ready to be priced.

The anniversary due board

NFPA 80 makes every door an annual appointment. The board sorts your whole roster by what comes due next, with a 60-day radar so the re-inspection is booked before anyone else calls.

Per-door history, forever

Every opening gets a permanent record: every inspection, every deficiency, every photo, every report, in one timeline the building owner can rely on.

Questions Door Inspectors Ask

Is Doorspector a field-service management suite?

No, and that's the point. No per-technician pricing, no dispatch, no GPS tracking. Doorspector does two jobs: prove the inspection (numbered reports with deficiency lists and photos) and capture the next one (the anniversary due board). If you need full FSM, suites like ServiceTrade and Inspect Point exist at per-tech pricing.

Do the reports satisfy the AHJ and my clients' insurers?

Reports follow NFPA 80's record-keeping expectations: the door and its location, the inspection date, the items checked, deficiencies found, and who performed the work. NFPA 80 requires records to be kept and made available to the AHJ on request, and requirements vary by jurisdiction; Doorspector gives you a complete, consistent record to present.

Does this submit reports to BRYCER or a city portal?

No. Doorspector is your own record system and works alongside whatever your jurisdiction uses. Where an AHJ requires portal submission, you submit under your own account exactly as you do today, and email the same report link to the building owner from here.

What about rolling doors and drop tests?

Rolling steel doors get their own checklist including the annual drop test, and sliding assemblies get theirs. Every door type carries the same anniversary tracking, so the whole building lives on one board.

What does it cost?

$99/month flat (or $990/year, two months free), for your whole company. Unlimited clients, doors, inspections, and reports. 14-day free trial, no card required.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, your clients, doors, inspection history, and reports are exportable. It's your inspection record, not ours.

What happens when the free trial ends?

The trial is 14 days with full access and no card required. When it ends, editing pauses but every client, door, inspection, and report is kept. Subscribe and you pick up exactly where you left off.

The Anniversary Is Coming. Be the One Who Knows.

Turn every inspection into an owner-ready report with the re-inspection already on your board. Set up your first building in minutes.
